Left-Hand Rear Brake for KTM, Husqvarna and GasGas: How It Works

Contents
A steep descent, a hairpin, you're standing on the pegs and your right foot is supposed to brake and hold your weight at the same time. With a left-hand rear brake you brake the rear wheel with your left hand. Here's how the kit works and what you need to fit it.
How it works
A second caliper sits next to the stock caliper on the rear disc. It has its own brake circuit with a master cylinder on the left of the handlebar. Your foot brake stays exactly as it is and keeps working independently.
What it's good for
- Braking the rear wheel without taking your foot off the peg, for example on steep descents, in hairpins or while standing
- More rear braking power, because two calipers grip the disc
- Your foot brake remains as a second, independent brake
What's in the kit

The left-hand rear brake kit (CHF 299.95) includes everything for the conversion except brake fluid:
- Dual caliper bracket, CNC-machined from 6061-T6 aluminium, black anodised
- Caliper with brake pads
- 14 mm master cylinder for the left side, adjustable lever reach
- Reservoir with hose and bracket
- Braided steel brake line, 1900 mm
- Removable aluminium disc guard
- Two axle spacers for 20 mm or 22 mm axles
- Screw set
Does it fit your bike?
The kit is made for KTM, Husqvarna and GasGas and matches stock brakes from Brembo, Magura and Braktec. You'll see exactly which models fit on the product page and on your bike's page, for example KTM EXC 300, Husqvarna TE 300 or GasGas EC 300.
Fitting in short
- Remove the rear wheel and replace the stock caliper bracket with the dual bracket, using the spacer for your axle diameter.
